Description: On April 29, 1908, Officer Campbell was fatally wounded as he attempted to arrest a man wanted for bootlegging. The suspect turned and fired a shot, striking Officer Campbell in the abdomen. Officer Campbell's condition worsened and he succumbed to his injuries on July 2, 1908.
