Description: Sergeant Collins and his wife were stalked, ambushed and fatally shot multiple times at point blank range by a mentally deranged man. While off-duty, Sergeant Collins was shot in the face while attempting to protect his wife from the suspect. The mentally deranged man testified that he shot Sergeant Collins and his wife with a shotgun because they were law enforcement officers.
