Description: Patrolman Cribb was shot while off-duty when he and another officer interrupted an armed robbery in a supermarket. The officers were informed by a store employee who told them of the robbery in progress. Armed with his service revolver, Patrolman Cribb entered the store and struggled with a the suspect who had been forcing an employee to empty a safe. Patrolman Cribb was unaware of the second suspect in the store and was ambushed and shot. The suspects fled with $5000 and were not apprehended.
