Description: On April 16, 2017, Agent De los Santos-Barbosa was shot when he and three other officers attempted to stop a vehicle with illegally tinted windows. The suspect, who was on parole, fled the scene with the officers in pursuit. The suspect then backed into the patrol car, opened fire and shot Agent De los Santos-Barbosa. The other officers returned fire and wounded the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with murder, weapons and narcotics violations. Agent De los Santos-Barbosa succumbed to his injuries five days later.
