Description: Deputy Downs approached a pool hall owner and another man who were causing a public disturbance and gave them a warning. Both men were drunk and high on marijuana. One of the suspects pulled a gun and shot Deputy Downs in the back, killing him. The suspect then fired into the crowd, killing one person and wounding two others. The suspect was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 99 years in prison.
