Description: Patrolman Dowell was shot and killed as he stood at his post awaiting relief. Two men approached Patrolman Dowell, one of whom Patrolman Dowell had previously arrested along with his sister. One of the men drew a revolver and shot Patrolman Dowell in the stomach. Patrolman Dowell was taken to the hospital where he died. The suspect was arrested and convicted of murder.
