Description: Master Trooper DeMuth was struck and killed after deploying spike sticks in an attempt to stop a suspect driver who was evading police. The suspect led law enforcement officers on a pursuit after he failed to stop his vehicle for a traffic violation. Trooper DeMuth had just finished placing the spike sticks and was standing in a median when he was struck by the fleeing suspect. Trooper DeMuth died at the scene. The suspect was apprehended.
