Description: On February 18, 2009, Deputy Sheriff Dewey was shot in the head and abdomen when he responded to a call regarding an intoxicated driver. Deputy Dewey underwent a series of operations and required rehabilitative care. In July, Deputy Dewey was moved into hospice care and remained there until his death on August 9, 2010.
