Description: Sergeant DeBerry collapsed and died of a heart attack at the department's firing range where he was going through a routine physical training exercise. He died during a timed run through an obstacle course. He was 80% through the course before he slowed to a walk and then collapsed to the ground. Emergency units were called and CPR was administered while en route to the hospital. Sergeant DeBerry was pronounced dead by the emergency room physician.
