Description: Sergeant Davis died as a result of massive blood loss due to an accidental gunshot wound to his leg. While finishing his shift, Sergeant Davis collected his equipment from his department vehicle. His service weapon discharged as he was attempting to secure it into its holster. Sergeant Davis attempted to call dispatch for assistance but lost consciousness and died at the scene.
