Description: Special Agent DeLitta was shot and killed as he and another agent arrived at a local restaurant in Houston, Texas. As the agents exited their department vehicle, they were confronted by a suspect who demanded they place their wallets on the hood of their car. As Agent DeLitta did so he attempted to retrieve his duty weapon from his ankle holster and the suspect shot him and fled. Agent DeLitta was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries 30 hours after surgery. The suspect turned himself in and was convicted on federal charges of murdering a Federal Agent.
