Description: Rural Patrolman Davis was shot as he attempted to serve a warrant for the illegal trapping of game. Patrolman Davis, accompanied by two other officers, went to the residence to serve the warrant. When the suspect saw the officers approach, he barricaded himself in the cabin and fired at them. Patrolman Davis was shot in the head and died at the scene. The suspect was killed by a posse.
