Description: Trooper II Dermeyer was ambushed and shot while participating in interdiction training at a Greyhound Bus Terminal in Richmond, Virginia. Trooper Dermeyer approached a suspect entering the bus station and began interviewing him. During the interview, the suspect produced a handgun and shot Trooper Dermeyer in the chest. Troopers on the scene returned fire and killed the suspect. Trooper Dermeyer was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.
