Description: Corrections Sergeant Dever was stabbed while off-duty by a suspect at a bar. The suspect caused a disturbance after the bartender informed him that he would not be served. As Sergeant Dever escorted the suspect from the bar, the suspect pulled a knife and stabbed him several times in the chest. Sergeant Dever was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
