Description: On October 27, 2014, Police Officer DeWitt was injured while conducting a tactical training exercise. During the exercise, a recruit stepped on Officer DeWitt's foot which caused him to fall to the concrete floor and injure his shoulder. Officer DeWitt died on June 5, 2015 as a result of complications from the surgery to treat his shoulder.
