Description: Lieutenant Doe contracted rabies when he was attacked and bitten in the face by a dog while on patrol. Lieutenant Doe was treated by a physician who cleaned but did not cauterize the wound. Lieutenant Doe quickly developed symptoms of the infectious disease and was bedridden until his death six weeks later.
