Description: Attempting other arrest (excludes burglary, robbery and drug-related arrests). Marshal Daffin had just arrested a suspect for a minor charge of disturbing the peace. As Marshal Daffin led the suspect to the jail, the suspect pulled out a pistol and shot the marshal. Marshal Daffin was killed instantly as the bullet went through his side. The suspect fled the scene and was later captured.
