Description: Police Officer Dutcher was killed while en route to a fire when the fire truck he was travelling in was struck by a train at the railroad crossing. Two firefighters were also in the vehicle. Officer Dutcher was thrown from the truck and sustained a fractured skull. The firefighter who was driving the truck later testified that he did not hear the train due to the emergency siren. Both firefighters were injured but survived.
