Description: Chief Dent was directing traffic at an intersection. Alerted to a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, Chief Dent blew his whistle and motioned to the driver to stop. The driver responded by turning off his lights and speeding up. Chief Dent moved out of the way of the speeding vehicle but stepped into the path of another car which struck him. Chief Dent was transported to the hospital where he died. The 17-year-old driver of the speeding vehicle was arrested and charged with murder.
