Description: Deputy D'Amore and Deputy John Miller died in an automobile crash when their van collided with another vehicle at an intersection and overturned. The deputies were transporting six convicts in a prison van to the Sing Sing facility. A third deputy, who was driving the van with the siren activated, swerved but was unable to avoid the crash. Deputy D'Amore and Deputy Miller died of multiple injuries.
