Description: Chief of Police Dickey was shot when he went to a farm to question the owner regarding an immorality complaint involving a 15-year-old minor. Chief Dickey was shot as he approached the barn. The barricaded suspect exchanged gunfire with responding officers and wounded several lawmen. The suspect was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 20 years and a day in prison.
