Description: Deputy Sheriff Dalton was shot and critically wounded by a suspect in an Orange County courtroom on January 10, 1984. Deputy Dalton noticed bulges in the suspectŸ??s jacket and was shot in the face as he attempted to search him. The suspect shot and killed Chief Bailiff Arnold Wilkerson (40-E: 9) as he attempted to stop him from fleeing the courtroom. Corrections Officer Mark Parker was also shot and paralyzed by the suspect and died of his injuries 25 years later (36-W: 27). Deputy Dalton succumbed to his injuries seven years later on March 25, 1991.
