Description: Patrolman Dryer was shot and killed while conducting a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. Patrolman Dryer and Patrolman Caldwell informed the suspect that his vehicle would be towed due to the violation. The suspect exited his vehicle and shot Patrolman Dryer and Patrolman Caldwell. Both Patrolmen were transported to nearby hospitals where Patrolman Dryer died. Patrolman Caldwell underwent surgery and survived the incident. The suspect fled the scene and was later shot and killed by law enforcement officers after a standoff with police.
