Description: Constable Davis and Deputy Gardener Jones arrested four men they caught in the act of stripping a stolen car of its parts. The lawmen were transporting the suspects to jail when they were attacked by the suspects. Constable Davis was shot in the heart and died at the scene. The suspects fled but three were arrested. Two suspects received life sentences and the third suspect received a 35 year prison sentence.
