Description: City Marshal Day was shot and stabbed by a man who was angry that a friend had been arrested for disturbing the peace earlier that day. Marshal Day, although shot twice, managed to stab his assaillant and mortally wound him. A second man approached and shot Marshal Day four more times. The second attacker fled the scene but was apprehended the next day.
