Description: Lt. Davis, as member of the department's Surf Rescue Team, responded to a surfer in trouble in heavy surf conditions. While attempting to rescue surfer, he lost power in his rescue craft. The rescue craft overturned and was immediately hit by a series of large waves. Lt. Davis drowned as a result.
