Description: Deputy Davis succumbed to the injuries he received the previous night in an single-car automobile accident while responding to a burglary-in-progress call. While responding to the emergency call, Deputy Davis swerved to avoid three juveniles on County Road 133 who were walking the wrong way on the unlit road. His patrol vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree before bursting into flames. Deputy Davis received burns over 65 percent of his body. He was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery to amputate an arm and leg due to severe burns. Deputy Davis succumbed to his injuries on May 30, which was also his twenty-fourth birthday.
