Description: Deputy Sheriff Davis was shot with his own gun when he and a fellow deputy went to a residence to serve commitment papers to a mentally ill man. The man resisted arrest and attacked Deputy Davis. He gained control of the service weapon and shot Deputy Davis several times. Responding officers arrested the suspect after a brief stand-off. Deputy Davis was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
