Description: Warden Dunn was shot and killed after a prison break at the Oklahoma State Prison. Four inmates escaped and took Warden Dunn as a hostage. Two deputies from Pittsburg, Oklahoma, Sheriff's Office intercepted the vehicle and a gun fight ensued. Warden Dunn, who had been stabbed in the chest before he was taken hostage, was shot several times in the gun fight and was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputy William Ford also died in this incident. Two of the escaping inmates were killed. The surviving inmate was found guilty of murder and died in the electric chair.
