Description: Constable DeCarli set up surveillance in a citizen's barn in response to complaints of stolen milk. Constable DeCarli spotted the suspect with an empty milk bottle in his hand and ordered him to stop. The suspect produced a gun and shot off two rounds striking Constable DeCarli in the abdomen and leg. Officer DeCarli was able to return fire, wounding the suspect. Constable DeCarli died the following day. The suspect was captured several months later.
