Description: Deputy Marshal Davis was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a suspect under indictment for murder and robbery in Claremore, I.T. (modern-day Arkansas). Marshal Davis was shot as he approached the suspect's residence and fell from his horse. Marshal Davis regained his footing and fatally shot the suspect, but died an hour later from his wounds.
