Description: Deputy Dennis accompanied two deputies to arrest a murder suspect. When Deputy Dennis approached the suspect and informed him that he was under arrest, the suspect drew a gun and shot him in the hip. Deputy Dennis died shortly after. The suspect was captured by an angry mob and lynched in front of the county courthouse.
