Description: Chief Dennis arrested two suspects on a routine traffic stop, placed them in the back seat of his cruiser and drove them to the county jail. While en route to the jail, one of the suspects produced a weapon and shot Chief Dennis in the back several times. Chief Dennis was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
