Description: Sheriff DeLisle was shot when he attempted to arrest a suspect on a peace warrant. When Sheriff DeLisle arrived at the residence, he informed the suspect that he was under arrest. The suspect replied that he could not be arrested and turned to go back into the house. Sheriff DeLisle fired, striking the suspect in the thigh. The suspect returned fire and fatally shot Sheriff Lisle in the head. The suspect died from the gunshot wound the next day.
