Description: Deputy Davis suffered a fatal heart attack when he engaged in a high speed pursuit of a bandit who had attempted to rob the Mt. Vernon Bank. The bandit shot one person at the bank and fled the scene in an automobile. Deputy Davis was called and gave chase. The bandit crashed into another vehicle, killing himself and the driver and wounding the passenger. Deputy Davis arrived at the horrific scene and suffered a fatal heart attack.
