Description: Patrol Officer Day was killed when his motorcycle was struck by a train at the State street crossing. Officer Day was crossing the tracks when he swerved to avoid a collision with the string of cars that were being backed by a switch engine. Officer Day was found 253 feet from the crossing. The motorcycle was also wedged under the train.
