Description: Investigator Davis was killed in a helicopter crash during a joint drug interdiction mission. The helicopter snagged on a power line and exploded into a hillside in western Imperial County. Also killed in this incident were Deputy Roy A. Chester, Sergeant Richard G. Romero, Deputy Mark Steven Tonkin, Deputy James McSweeney and three National Guardsmen. Investigator Davis is the father of Placer County Detective Michael Davis, Jr. (Panel 16-E:29) who was killed on the same day in 2014.
