Description: Burglary in progress or pursuing burglary suspects. Officer Dawson responded to a burglary call. While en route to the call, he lost control of his patrol unit as it skidded on the wet and slippery road. Officer Dawson sustained a broken neck and multiple injuries in the accident, which rendered him a quadriplegic. He was confined to a wheelchair until his death. Attending physician stated that Officer Dawson's death was attributable to the injuries he sustained in accident.
