Description: Deputy Sheriff Dodson was shot in an exchange of gunfire as he attempted to arrest a suspect on a liquor law warrant after the Mississippi Supreme Court affirmed a conviction against the suspect. The suspect died the next day. Deputy Dodson was transported to the hospital where he died of his injuries four days later.
