Description: On December 27, 1972, Police Officers Dooley, and his partner Robert Bradford, were shot while conducting surveillance on three suspects who were wanted for the shooting of four Detroit Police Officers. When the suspects exited the residence, the officers began their pursuit. Officer Bradford was fatally shot in the head (Panel 10-W: 8). Officer Dooley was shot five times and critically wounded. Officer Dooley died of cancer on September 15, 2012.
