Description: Officer DeBose-Dover was killed in a single-car accident while she and Officer Barbara Sherrod were returning from training at the firing range. She was driving her personal vehicle at the time of her death. Officer DeBose's vehicle hit the guardrail and crossed three lanes of traffic before overturning several times. Officer DeBose-Dover was killed instantly when she was thrown from the vehicle. Officer Sherrod was treated and released from the local hospital. New York State Division of Parole Officers use their personal vehicles to go to court, to firing range training, and for other official business.
