Description: Officer Dmytryk and his partner witnessed an attempted robbery by two suspects at 19th and Spring Garden Street. When he and his partner intervened, Officer Dmytryk was shot in the head, shoulder and chest. Officer Dmytryk was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. One suspect was killed at the scene by Officer Dmytryk's partner and another back up officer. The second suspect was convicted of second degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.
