Description: Officer Dirickson was struck and killed while directing traffic around a fatal accident on Interstate 20. Officer Dirickson was standing in front of the door of his vehicle when he was struck by a passing 18-wheel truck and pinned against his vehicle. Officer Dirickson was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
