Description: Officer Duross collapsed and died shortly after he and Officer Ernest Smith pursued a speeding motorist for five blocks in West Philadelphia. Officer Duross complained of chest pains after the brief chase which started at 40th & Market street and ended when Officer Duross gave up pursuit at 41st & Spruce streets. The speeding motorist escaped.
