Description: Corporal Ester was stabbed by an inmate at the East Arkansas Regional Unit while investigating a report of contraband. Corporal Ester confronted an inmate about an illegal item in their possession and attempted to confiscate the item. The inmate suddenly produced a shank and stabbed Corporal Ester several times. Corporal Ester was transported to the hospital where she died. The inmate was transferred to the maximum security wing of the facility.
