Description: Deputy Sheriff Etheridge was shot and killed while responding to a call of larceny. Deputy Etheridge was shot twice while approaching the house where the burglary had occurred. Deputy Etheridge was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. The suspect was killed in a gun battle with officers later in the day.
