Description: Officer Elkins was struck and killed while escorting a funeral procession. Officer Elkins had stopped his department motorcycle at a stop sign before bringing the funeral procession through the intersection. As he proceeded through the intersection he was struck and killed by an oncoming vehicle. Officer Elkins was transported to the local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
