Description: Town Marshal Eller was shot when he answered a call regarding an intoxicated man selling bootleg liquor at a dancehall. As Marshal Eller approached the suspect, the man drew a gun and shot him once in the torso. Marshal Eller was transported to the hospital and died of his injuries the next day. His assailant was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
