Description: Trooper Eales and Trooper Hamilton were assigned to assist the District Attorney's Task Force in serving a narcotics arrest warrant on suspect Kenneth Barrett. Upon approaching the residence, the suspect opened fire on both troopers. Trooper Eales was shot fatally in the chest. Trooper Hamilton, who was wounded in both shoulders and one eye, recovered. Kenneth Barrett was found guilty of the murder of Trooper Eales on 11/04/2005 and faces life imprisonment or the death penalty.
