Description: Constable Eanes was shot when he attempted to intervene in a domestic disturbance dispute involving child custody. The father removed the seven month old baby at gunpoint from his wife and in-laws and threatened to kill Constable Eanes if he attempted to stop him. Constable Eanes gathered a posse and followed the suspect to the outskirts of town. The suspect got out of his buggy and fatally shot Constable Eanes in the head. The suspect was convicted of second degree murder and sentenced to six years in prison.
